I'm not sure if any of you had a chance to view the Crystal Renn gallery of photos (see the link in the previous post) but I thought that she did a great job posing for the Vogue 2004 Shape Issue, espically in the '50s-style maillot de bain. She was only 17-years-old when she did this spread. It's great to see that she is still going strong. Yet, I would like to see her in Vogue again. Looking back through Vogue's April 2005 and 2006 Shape Issues not only did I not see Renn in any of the pages, I did not see a "curvy" representation as close to the one she did for their 2004 shoot.

Wow, she's a knockout - an absolute knockout. I love the eighties vibe of her styling, too: the dark brows, the big hair, the Cindi thighs, the COLOR! The truth is, I don't think we can handle true sexy. People try to corner the market on sexy and or redefine it, and the thing is, you just can't. Sexy is not the property of porn, of skinny models, of nude models in French Vogue, or of it girls. The truth is, real sexy is kind of embarrasing; it makes you want to look away. This is why they can't use the real thing on the runway. They pick boyishly figured models for a reason. True sexiness speaks of love, and fashion can't handle that. Don't get me wrong; I LOVE fashion. But it is by nature superficial.
